DUMPED – Part 2

We mounted the photos on foam core and cut it to the edge leaving a 1/2″ white border. The piece is almost 9 feet long! Crazy. We then hung it from the ceiling tiles in our classroom with regular wire and taped it to the back of the board. We also hung our words from the mounted piece itself. The words were Garbage, Trash, Waste & Dump. I made a clipping mask out of them and inserted photos of rubbish from all around town. Our presentation went well. Everyone enjoyed our stories of getting chased out of the recycling depots and transfer stations. Especially, when the guy chased after our photographer, screaming…”put that camera down!” Classic.

I also included some shots of some of the other groups’ projects, which included a story about changing Ballard and its evolution. Another one was some of buddies went out and pretended to be homeless for a night and captured different parts of the city and its evening landscape. One was “A look Inside,” i.e. what’s in your fridge? and how that can equate to the type of person you are.. The last one I captured was of a homeless student and what his life might be like on campus. Pretty thorough, pretty ridiculous. Enjoy! Zz4sheezy
